Blue Jay State Bird Hotel

Winner of the Mayor’s Choice Award, 2025 Cupertino Community Multicultural Juried Art Show

Inspired by her curiosity about birds and wildlife, she designed a “bird resort” specially built for state birds from across the country — from California’s quail to Hawaii’s nēnē. Each bird has its own cozy cabin, forming a bright and eco-friendly community full of life and warmth. Through colorful birdhouses, playful maps, and thoughtfully designed spaces such as a lobby, restaurant, and outdoor pool, Mia expresses her love for nature and art, along with her gentle care and respect for the natural world.

Art in the Community

Mia enjoys sharing her art with others and being part of her community. She volunteers at local multicultural events, helping with art activities and connecting with people through creativity. In 2025, her artwork was selected for the Cupertino Community Multicultural Juried Art Show, where she received the Mayor’s Choice Award. These experiences inspire Mia to keep creating, learning, and using art to bring people together.

Pottery Explorations by Mia

Mia is currently exploring pottery as a new creative medium, experimenting with form, texture, and storytelling through clay. These early ceramic works reflect her curiosity, hands-on problem-solving, and growing understanding of three-dimensional design. From small architectural scenes to playful functional objects, her pottery projects show how she extends her artistic ideas beyond drawing and painting into sculptural expression.

Mia’s Mini Press

During summer camps, Mia designed and illustrated her own mini newspapers and activity guides. These quickly became favorites among her classmates. Through this work, Mia learned how to communicate ideas clearly, organize information, and create joyful experiences for others.

About Me

Hi! My name is Mia.
I love making art, especially cute things and dreamy pictures. I like to daydream and imagine little worlds in my head, and then turn those dreams into drawings, paintings, and pottery. I enjoy using many different materials and trying new ideas, and I often get inspired by animals, nature, stories, and the small happy moments in everyday life.

I also care about the environment and wildlife, and I love learning how to help protect nature. Art makes me feel calm and happy, and it helps me share my feelings and imagination with the world.
